Experience:
More than 30 years fisheries/ marine resource sector experience with national governments, regional technical assistance agencies, international organizations, and commercial fishing and private consultancy companies in 18 countries. In addition, senior experience in private sector development in the Pacific islands as PNG representative for the International Finance Corporation.
Projects and assignments:
More than 60 major projects and assignments undertaken in fisheries including: field-based fisheries; sector review; economic appraisals; infrastructure development; project design management and evaluation; public/ private partnerships and dialogue; special economic zone development; policy formulation; and business financing.
Publications:
Author/co-author of over 30 publications and technical reports on fisheries.
Key skills:
Public and private-sector fisheries enterprise evaluation, planning, organisation, mobilisation and management, including risk identification and management.
Project team leadership, including personnel and financial administration and management, particularly in remote area project mobilisation.
Infrastructure project management, including scoping, tendering, contract administration, environmental monitoring and management planning, and liaison and negotiation with government and other concerned agencies.
Preparation of technical and commercial assessments, advisory and policy documents, technical manuals, proposals and narrative reports.

Fishing gear technology assessment, development, specification and procurement, particularly in tuna fisheries, demersal line fisheries, tropical coastal fisheries and sports fishing, and fish aggregating device design, specification, deployment and use.
